The admissions process at Frontline Focus is designed to ensure first responders, military personnel, and veterans receive timely access to trauma-focused care that is both clinically appropriate and operationally feasible. Our intake procedures combine structured screening, comprehensive evaluation, and coordinated onboarding to create a smooth and seamless entry into our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Referral Pathways
-
Self-Referral: First responders and veterans can initiate the process directly by contacting our program.
-
Provider & Insurer Referrals: We accept referrals from behavioral health providers, physicians, insurers, and employee assistance programs (EAPs).
-
Workers’ Compensation: We collaborate directly with workers’ compensation claims adjusters to support injured first responders requiring treatment for occupational PTSD.
-
Agency Partnerships: We partner with law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and related organizations to streamline referrals and ensure easy access to care.
Intake Process
Initial Phone Screening
A preliminary phone call is conducted to confirm eligibility, review presenting concerns, and determine if IOP is the appropriate level of care.
Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation
Performed by a psychiatric nurse practitioner, this evaluation includes diagnostic clarification, medical and psychiatric history, and initial treatment planning.
Pre-Admission Assessment
A detailed psychosocial assessment, risk evaluation, and review of occupational and functional impairments is completed prior to admission.
Program Admission & Orientation
Once evaluations are complete, participants are formally admitted into the IOP and assigned to a treatment track. Group participation typically begins within 48 hours of evaluation.
Onboarding & Treatment Initiation
Participants are assigned a primary therapist for ongoing individual therapy sessions. A collaborative treatment plan is developed within the first week, incorporating clinical goals, return-to-work objectives, and any additional service needs. Orientation to telehealth systems, group structure, and program expectations is provided prior to joining group sessions.
